Little Lamb, Who Made Thee?

Little Lamb,
Who Made Thee?

Welcome to the year 2002 C.E. (Common Era). I have decided to make more of an effort to use language which is more inclusive. I know some of you think that political correctness is a crock. However, I think there are enough things dividing us as human beings, without using terms that seperate us into opposing groups. I do reserve the right to use terms from my own faith when talking about faith issues.
It's hard to believe that we are now in our third year since Y2K. Who was it said, "Time and tide wait for no one.?" I am beginning to wonder how I can finish all the things in this lifetime that I still have on my ToDo list. Perhaps I will have to stop playing games. Nah!! That's too bold a step. If there is no fun left, we have nothing.
Yesterday a package arrived at our Florida doorstep from the frozen tundra of Lancaster, PA. My daughter sent us a package containing some Christmas presents. She sent me a beautiful gray tie and a book of poems. The only ties I ever get compliments on are the ones my daughter gave me. She has such good taste in clothes. My taste in clothes is pretty lousy. I have also started reading the poetry book she sent me. I want to share one of the poems with you further on down the page. She also sent her mother some beautiful earrings and some handmade hand towels. Thank you, Ellen.
So, I picked out a poem to share with you. It was written by William Blake, 1757-1827.

THE LAMB
Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee;
Gave thee life and bid thee feed
By the stream and o'er the mead;
Gave thee clothing of delight,
Softest clothing, woolly, bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice
Making all the vales rejoice?
Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?
Little Lamb, I'll tell thee,
Little Lamb, I'll tell thee:
He is called by thy name,
For He calls Himself a Lamb.
He is meek and He is mild;
He became a little child.
I a child and thou a lamb,
We are called by His name.
Little Lamb, God bless thee.
Little Lamb, God bless thee.
