An amoeba, floating in flotsam,
Divides itself and multiplies.
Not sharing its offspring with a mate,
It lives for the moment and is gone.
But amoebas live on.
A frog, leaping from a lily pad,
Spots a mass of eggs in the pond.
Applying his sperm, he becomes a parent,
The eggs were produced by another.
Still the species survives.
Two swans, swimming alone,
Come together on that same pond.
A lifetime of sharing produces, year after year,
A new nest of signets, each finding a mate.
The swan sings its song, but new life goes on.
A young man, sensing his virility,
Caresses his mate, and the two become one.
A baby cries, and is nurtured by both
With a spirit of love that before was unknown.
The child, born to die, seeks eternal love.
The Great Spirit. creating that love,
Guides the species as they evolve.
All life has been crowned by woman and man,
Who are given each life to be used and preserved.
Will they hinder or further Eternal Life?
