160. Jacob LANDIS¹²⁵ was born in 1740.¹⁵² He died on 8 Apr 1794 in Lampeter Twp, Lancaster Co, PA.^125,152,180 He was buried in Mellinger Men. Cem. (unmarked grave). Abraham was taxed at Lampeter Twp, Lancaster Co, PA and was fined at Lampeter Twp in 1783/1786 for refusal to bear arms during the Revolutionary War.

I think I have found the source of much of the confusion surrounding the
identity of his wife. In the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society card file
the original entry was Ann. Someone later typed in Ann Engle. The Barbara
Snavely is a misreading by many researchers. She is the second wife of his
son Johannes. Her birth and death dates are too late for Jacob Landis. The
card is rather poorly prepared. I need to check out this Ann Engle thing, but
I am becoming more convinced that Ira Landis was right with Esther Barr.

161. Esther BARR was buried in Mellinger Men. Cem. (unmarked grave). Children were:

	ii.	Abraham LANDIS was born on 1 Nov 1767.181 He died on 10 Mar 1851.181 He was buried in Mellinger Men. Cem., E Lampeter Twp.
	iii.	Mary LANDIS was born about 1766.182 This date cannot be correct. It probably was abt 1768.i
	iv.	Elizabeth LANDIS was born on 14 Jul 1769.125 She died on 4 Feb 1857.183 She was buried in Longenecker Cem.
	v.	Esther LANDIS was born on 1 Oct 1771.184 She died on 24 Aug 1838.184 She was buried in New Danville Reformed Mennonite Church, Pequae Twp., Lancaster County, PA.
	vi.	Magdalena LANDIS was born about 1775.185 She died in 1839.185
	vii.	Barbara LANDIS was born about 1775.125 She died in 1833.185
