656. Benjamin LANDIS¹²⁵ was born in 1697 in Switzerland.²²⁷ He died in 1781 in Lampeter Twp, Lancaster Co, PA.^125,227 He was a farmer and an ordained Mennonite minister. Benjamin arrived in Pennsylvania in 1717 with his father. He was naturalized in 1729. He lived on the land in Lampeter Twp which his father warranted in 1718. He was taxed at Lampeter Twp in 175. His house became a refuge for many of the Swiss emigrants who enjoyed his hospitality until they were able to secure homes of their own.

Along with Martin Bare, helped establish Mellinger's Church.
