124. Jacob HERSHEY^163,164 was born in 1742 in hempfield Twp., Lancaster Co., PA.¹⁶⁵ He signed a will on 22 Mar 1792.⁵³ He died on 14 Apr 1825.¹⁶³ He was buried in Hershey Men. Cem (Old). Salisbury Twp., Lancaster Co., PA.¹⁶³ He moved to Derry Township, Dauphin Co., Pa to farm land owned by his father, Andrew Hershey. In May, 1792, he and his family moved from Derry Twp. to Salisbury Twp., Lancaster County, PA to join a new community of Mennonites who were purchasing land from the original English settlers of that township. These original settlers were moving elsewhere. The Mennonite congregation that grew out of this settlement was originally called Hess and later, Hershey. A memorial monument to this family stands in the cemetery where they are buried.
Jacob HERSHEY and Anna NEWCOMER were married about 1771 in Pennsylvania.⁵³

Salisbury Twp., Lancaster Co., PA.163 Christian was 12 years old when his family moved from Derry Twp. to Salisbury Twp., Lancaster County, PA to join a new community of Mennonites who were purchasing land from the original English settlers of that township. These original settlers were moving elsewhere.
	iv.	Elizabeth HERSHEY was born on 19 May 1783 in Derry Twp, Dauphin Co, PA.114,166 Maurice L. Umble in his Readers Ancestry source has birth date as 27 May 1783. She died on 12 Jun 1875.114 She was buried in Brackbill Cemetery, Strasburg, PA.
