6. Reuben Weaver HORST¹⁰ was born on 5 Dec 1868 in West Earl Twp, Lanc Co, PA.¹¹ He died Heart attack on 19 Jun 1941.^10,11 His son, Lloyd had death date as June 22, 1941. That may have been the date of the burial. He was buried in Weaverland Cem, E Earl Twp, Lanc Co, PA.⁵ He was a Farmer.⁵ He suffered a heart attack in the night of June 13, and fell asleep in Jesus on June 19. He was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church for the past 55 years. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Ephrata Mennonite Church, conducted by Bro. Mahlon Zimmerman and Bishop Noah H. Mack. The text used was Phil. 1: 23, 24--words that Father quoted during his last illness. Interment was in the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. 7. Frances Reiff SWEIGART¹⁰ was born on 3 Nov 1868 in Earl Twp., Lanc. Co., PA.¹¹ She died on 12 Dec 1947.¹¹ She was buried in Weaverland Cem, E Earl Twp, Lanc Co, PA.⁵ Frances, daughter of Chambers and Annie (Reiff) Sweigart, passed away at the home of her son-in-law and daughter (Mr. and Mrs. Lehman Lefever), Penryn, Pa., after a short illness, Dec. 12, 1947. She was a kind and loving mother, always deeply interested in the welfare of her children and the church. Funeral services were held Dec. 16 at the home of Titus Horst, Ephrata, Pa.; and at the Ephrata Mennonite Church, in charge of Mahlon Witmer and Mahlon Zimmerman. Texts: II Cor. 4:17,18; 5:1-10; Rev. 21:4. Burial was made in the Weaverland Cemetery. Children were:

He was ordained as the first minister for the Ephrata congregation on July 20, 1918, and ordained as bishop on Jan. 4, 1934, as assistant to Noah Landis, for the Hammer Creek district. His early years were devoted to evangelistic meetings, CPS visiting, and the Peace Problems Committee. At the time of his death he was moderator of the Lancaster Conference and secretary of the Foreign Missions Council. He took an interest in missions and visited the foreign field several times. Funeral services were held Jan. 4 (the 29th anniversary of his ordination as bishop), at the Ephrata Church, in charge of J. Elvin Martin, Noah Good, Mahlon Zimmerman, Donald Lauver, Simon Bucher, David Thomas, and Isaac Sensenig; interment in Metzler Cemetery.
