A Short, Short Story

Did you ever try to write a short story in 55 words or less? A friend of mine challenged me with this recently. This is my first effort. Perhaps you can identify with this story. It is a common problem that many of us have to deal with.

Let me challenge you to make an attempt at writing a short, short story in 55 words or less. Why don't you send me the results via e-mail? I may post a few of them from time to time on my "Thought for the Week." You might indicate in your e-mail if I may publish it on my web site.

The Culprit

The Case of the Killer Shower Curtain

As I turned on the hot water, something brushed against me. I turned and saw the shower curtain wrapping itself around me.

As I turned back to the shower, it completely enveloped me. "Aiiieee!"

My wife yelled, "Close the curtain, the floor is all wet."

Was she fortunate that I was not a shower curtain!
