Beware, Mr. Bush, the Paint is Starting to Peel

The paint on our front door had recently started to peel off. Our condominium association is in the process of repainting the outside doors on all the units. Ours had been repainted just a few years ago. When the painter started scraping this week, the old paint came off in huge strips. The previous painter simply covered up the imperfections without properly preparing the surface by scraping and sanding.

The administration in Washington has spent the past 5 years putting their own spin on everything that happens to their programs. Without actually fixing anything, they cover it up with half-truths and lies. Well, the untruths are finally starting to catch up to them. You can only repaint so often without fixing what is underneath. Then the paint starts to peel off in huge strips.

This week they are in a real quandary. A courageous woman who lost her son in Iraq has been trying to see her president at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. He refused to meet her on her terms. Now she has started a movement that is growing by leaps and bounds. He doesn't know what to do. If he gives in to her, he will have to explain his failures to the whole world because the media are covering the encampment at the end of his driveway. If he doesn't see her, the movement will continue to grow and draw added attention to the failure of his adventurism in Iraq.

Mr. Bush, you can no longer hide behind the lies. Everything is coming apart; your war, your social security program, your energy program, your meager attempts at solving the economy, and all the other things you are trying to cover up. Mr. Rove and Mr. Libby are trembling in their boots, because their lies are being exposed. The paint is coming off in huge strips.

You have one thing that you can do to save America. Resign, Mr. Bush, resign. You are incapable of running this country. We are heading for an unprecedented calamity. The paint is coming off in huge strips. It is time to turn the reins over to someone capable of running the country and of telling the truth. The Neocon experiment has failed, Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney. Get out of town before the sheriff comes looking for you. Sheriff Fitzgerald has your number, Mr. Bush. The paint is coming off in huge strips.
