On the 25th of May, 1985 our son James Weaver was joined in holy wedlock to Sherry Rittenhouse at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, Lancaster, PA. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Floyd E. Bantz. After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, they settled into their little home in Linden, south of Lancaster. A few years later they built a brand new home in Providence Township, Lancaster Co., PA.
Jim took up a career as a sheet metal worker and has worked for many years as a shear operator in a service center in Lancaster, PA. Sherry earned a B.S. in Computer Science at Millersville University, and is now a computer specialist at a heavy equipment company in New Holland, PA. They also own a craft business, Sherry's Country Crafts, which they operate out of a store at the rear of their home. You will also find them set up at many area craft shows.
On July 18, 1990 Sherry gave birth to their son Joshua. She and Jim did a wonderful job of raising him to adulthood. He is now a student at Harrisburg Community College where he is studying information science with a specialty in networking. Joshua works part time in the kitchen at the Willow Valley assisted living facility. He also has an interest in car detailing, and runs a small detailing business at home. On August 21, 2008 Joshua became a father. He has a beautiful son named Preston, who has become a real joy to us all.
We are all so proud of Jim and Sherry and the way they have taken on their family responsibilities, particularly raising Joshua, and now helping to raise Preston.
Congratulations on this, your 25th Wedding Anniveersary. May you have many more wonderful years together.
