Setting up a Shortcut for Hearts on Desk top
1. Right click on desk top.
2 Put pointer on new and click shortcut.
3. Click on browse button

5. Find file labeled mshearts.exe and double click. (or single click and then click OK)
6. Click on Next.
7. Type Hearts in little window.
8. Click on Finish. (You now have an icon on desk top which is a shortcut to Microsoft Hearts. To run the program, simply double click.)
Deleting a Shortcut from Desk top
Simply drag it to the Recycle Bin. It will disappear. However, you have not lost the program. Simply create a new shortcut.
Assignment: Create a Shortcut on your desk top for the program Freecell. It is also located in the Windows folder, and its name is Freecell.exe. Then drag it to the Recycle Bin and create it again. If you don't want it on your desk top, drag it to the Recycle Bin a 2nd time.
The Task Bar
The task bar can be moved on any of the 4 sides of the screen. If it is ever in your way, simply put the pointer on the bar and hold down the left button. Drag it to whichever side you want it. I like to keep mine on the top. The task bar can also be made wider. Simply grab the edge and pull it away from the side. To make it narrower, reverse the procedure. You can also hide the task bar as follows:
1. Right Click on Task Bar.
2. Click on Properties.
3. Check little box which says "Auto hide".
4. Click OK.
Now the task bar will almost disappear from the desk top. To make it appear, simply touch the edge with your pointer. It will reappear. If you want to do something on it, keep pointer on task bar to click. When you move pointer away, it will again disappear. If you don't like it to disappear, go through the procedure again, but take the little check mark away.
Assignment: Move your task bar to each of the 4 sides. Widen it and make it narrow again. Hide it and then unhide it.
Using Help:
1. Click Start Button on Task Bar.
2. Click on Help.
3. There are 3 tabs on top of window. Contents, Index, and Search.
a. Contents lists about 10 major topics.
b. Index is used to find a topic beginning with a certain word.
c. Search is used to find a topic with a word any place in the title.
Assignment: Use Help Index to find "shortcuts". Then find "desktop". Double click. A Help panel will come up. Right click on it and click on print to print it out. Create a shortcut for mshearts.exe by this method.
